Is there a chatbox for a website that lets you login with facebook, twitter, etc…?
I am making a website and I want to put in a chatbox where visitors to the site can login with facebook, twitter, and other social medias and chat with eachother. I dont want people to be able to put there own username in, I want them to have their real facebook/twitter name. Is there any widget or javascript, html, or php I can use?
No widget, no javascript, but a lot of APIs.
For each social network you want to call, you need to study and implement their API to “enter” these sites from your own site.
An API is a kind of program you can call on a website, that returns an answer to a request.
To use them, you need excellent knowledge of server-side scripting (ie Php – cURL) and cross-server communications (XML)
Absolutely not for beginners, and certainly not for “cut-and-paste” people…
As for the “Chatbox”, you also need serious server-side scripts, databases and, for interaction, excellent knowledge of AJAX.
If you are still at the level of HTML/CSS/Javascript, you have three-four years studies in front of you.
