Should I update my Facebook and Twitter in 1st-person or third person?
I am a musician and run my own Facebook “Fan” page and also a Twitter page.
People always say you should use Facebook as a more of a personal, one-on-one type of communication. But when you look at national artists, you don’t often see the famous people having candid conversations with fans.
So, to be more professional, should I write in third person? As if a record label was writing my updates for me? Or should I let the general public know it is actually me behind my own fan page?
I see pros and cons for both, but not sure what I should do. One con I see is that by writing in 1st person you kind of kill the mystery a little…
Suggestions?
No way!, write it as if YOU are talking to your fan! If YOU PERSONALLY talk to your fans, they’re just going to love you even more & be way more likely to talk about you to their friends & spread the word!
