I am enquiring about artists (preferably painters) who have been inspired by the organic forms?
in nature to create imaginary inventions in their paintings or even drawings. An example is Paul Klee’s ‘twittering machine.’I am particularly interested in the unconscious principles of construction – how this may lead to creating a functionless world or invention in a painting. Does anyone have any advice on this?
Well Paul Klee was a big fann of the ‘taking the line for a walk’ technique for finding inspiration where you scribble absent-mindedly on a surface and then make art from the loops and lines created. It is perfect that you use the word organic because not only are organic forms like eggs and globes pleasant to draw and paint but it is the notion of art coming so naturally that without planning it it just blossoms and grows on its own.
This way of making art is not for everybody but I personally find it the most enjoyable and the most effective. Best of luck! x
