Why does twitter say it has “Been Hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army” ?
Is it a terrorist attack?
Twitter was indeed attacked via DNS Hijacking. It means whenever you typed in the address twitter.com, it actually took you to another page. Twitter itself was not hacked, but it’s DNS records were. This technically could be considered hacktivism. This is when a hacker attacks to promote a cause. Right now Iran is a hot bed of political activity. Some people will coin this as a cyber terrorist attack. I really just assume someone wanted to make a point.
