Tons of websites are all down at the same time- how come?
I thought it was my computer connection at first, but then I realized a bunch of the sites I was trying to go to were all going down with their specific “error” pages (so for example, home depots has the home depot logo and says “we’re sorry, Due to updates we’re making to the site, homedepot.com is temperarily unavailable”). This is also happening to Lowes, Twitter, Belkin, Boss, and several others.
Is this purely a coincidence? or is there some other reason behind it?
Your ISP has probably lost the peering link to the network those sites are on.
Next time it happens, call them up and ask if they are having issues.
