How do I get my family to stop stalking me online?
Seriously, as of today I`m tempted to delete my accounts on Facebook, Twitter and so help me, my blog might even have to go too.
The older members of my family have finally figured out this “Internet` thing and now they don`t let up. I mean, my mom will CALL me to discuss a post on Twitter. Yes, a random note that`s 140 characters is apparently worth a phone call. To my cell phone.
On top of that, she`ll whine about how doesn`t understand what I`m rambling on about anyway (I`m a writer working in the technology field, so yes, my blog, Tweets and Facebook updates revolve around this. Heck, the only reason I have them in the first place is because my colleagues seem to think it`s a requirement.)
So, um, anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this politely
Maybe you should delete it for a while- a month or so? And gradually start making a new one- and maybe not add your family for a while. Can you delete your mom and if she asks you “Why did you delete me?” can you say “well mom, I feel like you call a lot when you don’t understand (say what she doesn’t understand).” or “I feel like your stalking me”- I don’t know what kind of relationship you and your family have but I know I can easily just say “man, you sure are checking my page out a lot, stalker!”- but joke about it.
