How do I get people to follow me on Twitter?
I know some people place their twitter profile absolutely everywhere (http://twitter.com/#!/TheAustinEllis), but to me that just seems obnoxious. There’s got to be a better way to get followers on Twitter, without acting like a complete tool. (http://twitter.com/#!/TheAustinEllis).

Follow a bunch of verified twitter accounts. 
Tweet a lot. Tweet about the trending topics and current events.
That usually gets you the attention.
And talk/mention a few of the verified or the popular tweeters (like Lord Voldemort). =]
