Computer won’t play sound from anything other than iTunes?
For some reason, my computer will not play sounds from Skype, AIM, Chrome, Twitter, or any other program EXCEPT iTunes. If it weren’t for this, I would suspect that my speakers were broken. Videos from YouTube play as if on mute and Skype says that it cannot find my sound drive. I’ve tried restarting to no avail. I’ve tried updating both of my drives for my audio: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and Intel High Definition Audio HDMI, and it told me that they were both updated. I’ve tripled checked that no program on my computer is on mute and when I use headphones, I get no change. Basically, it’s as if everything on my computer is on mute except for iTunes.
Any help would be appreciated as to how to get my computer to work again!
You can start the computer in safe mode and remove the driver, then boot normally and download the driver and install it again. Sometimes you have to do this about 300 times with the intel audio, as it never works right. I got a soundblaster card for my desktop that had the same intel audio because it never worked.
