How many MB of mobile internet do you think I would need? 750?
I am getting an iphone and am being offered 750mb, I’m used to unlimited internet so I don’t really know how far ‘x’ amount of MB goes.
Here’s what I would use it for:
– Checking facebook at regular intervals
– Using tumblr and twitter ocassionally
– Checking my emails (once a day)
– Downloading apps on iphone regularly
– Surfing the net for other things quite frequently
I know not to use youtube because it will use up a lot of data but that’s about all I know. Will 750mb be enough, I do use it quite a lot.
Your biggest data hogs are going to be streaming services. Without knowing specific apps you use, the ones you need to worry about are the ones that play video and audio. For example, if you stream Pandora a few hours a day, that’s going to use a lot of data. You mentioned YouTube and that uses a ton of data, so count any other apps that show videos too in the same category. One video is usually 2-3MB and pandora uses about 30mb an hour.
Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter use next to nothing and emails don’t use a lot either, typically no more than 1/20th a MB. Apps average 3MB in size so unless you’re downloading 20 apps a week, you don’t need to worry about them.
Web usage is 20mb an hour but most people don’t do that much every day.
Keep in mind that when ever you are connected via WiFi, none of the usage will count so you can stream as much as you want, surf the web as much as you want, download apps, etc.
