language study…HELP!!!?
ok.. here’s the thing. i have a language study for english due sometime soon, and it’s annoying me, it needs 2000 words max. my topic angle is “how language choice is determined by the expectations of the audience” and i am looking at social networking services. so, i need to write how language is used. i would like to use facebook, myspace and possibly twitter, but twitter is just an add on. i would like to talk about the features in them and how the language is used with it. help would be nice… just looking for a few helpful starting points.

i dont use social networking sites, but i do often speak differently depending on the audience i am speaking to. I would imagince that some things to consider for your specific area would be what is that person using a social networking site for? are they using it to find a job, talk to friends, find a date, market their business, sell stuff? You would speak differently depending on all of those things! Hope that is helpful!
