The internet + all applications have stopped working on my BlackBerry Curve?
So I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520. I’m with T Mobile. Had my BlackBerry since July ’10, it’s been fine since then, no problems.
This morning I was on the youtube application on my BlackBerry, and it suddenly stopped working – it won’t play videos, I can’t search for videos. I figured it was a one time thing so I tried to go on Twitter and it didn’t work – I can’t tweet or load anything. Facebook doesn’t load any statuses… The actual internet (web n walk) isn’t working either.
What do you think I should do? If I don’t get this fixed I’m going to go into the shop tomorrow but I really don’t want to, so does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Try a battery pull as follows and see if that fixes your BB issues…
With the device on, remove the back cover, remove the battery and leave it out for 20-30 seconds, then put the battery back in and power on the device. The battery pull (referred to as a hard reset) is recommended by RIM to cure or solve about 95% of the issues that might face a BB. That’s because removing a BB battery severs the device from its power source, resetting the network connection and rebooting the handheld operating system (OS). Pulling the battery will often re-install service books (required for most BB functions) that might have gotten messed up, usually fixes most network connectivity issues and any java errors you might be getting on the device. Also, doing so does not remove applications, data, settings, etc. It is good to do, really, about 1-2x a week to keep your device operating smoothly.
