Android phone applications?
Hi! So I’m getting a new phone soon. I have the LG Apex from US Cellular at the moment, but I’m going to be getting the Samsung Mesmerize for US Cellular (Samsung Fascinate from Verizon) in 1-2 weeks. I have an android phone at the moment, but I don’t have any extra applications on it except Twitter, Chomp SMS, and a keyboard app.
My question is, what are your top 5-10 favorite FREE applications on the Android? Also, those of you who have a phone like this, how do you like it? Any customizing ideas? Thanks!
1) Make your clock widget – this app lets you create and customize your own clock and what aspects of the clock you want to include; date, time, week day, all that stuff.
2) Google maps for navigation and directions
3) Dolphin Browser instead of the default browser because it has tabs you can use and is quicker to load and you can exit out of it after to save on battery
4) Battery widget – this tells you how much battery you have in a percent. Clicking on the widget will give quick access to battery, display, gps, wifi and bluetooth.
5) Brightness widget – quick access to brightness to save on battery life
6) The Weather Channel – weather widget that gives the forecast
7) Facebook & Twitter
Lookout Mobile Security – makes sure the apps you download don’t have spyware or anything potentially harmful for your phone
9) ShopSavvy – barcode scanner
10) AK Notepad – notepad for quick notes and memos
