Which pronoun do I use to quote an undefined person in English?
For instance… If I say ‘I don’t know why I should follow a famous person on Twitter. She/He/It will never answer me’… Which pronoun wold fit better?
P.S.: I don’t know the referred person’s gender.
In the USA “they” is used for the “default gender”; here in the UK it’s “he”; I have to agree, however, that “they” fits the situation you mention better.
