About some Web 2.0 Sites?
I can’t keep up with all of these Web 2.0 Sites that are becoming popular. Can someone please describe the purposes/function of the following sites that I often hear about?
Flickr. I understand that you put photos on it, but what’s the point when places like Photobucket and Picasaweb give you *WAY* more storage?
Twitter: I understand the concept, but I wonder if there’s a point to tweeting if you have no followers (my friends won’t follow me because they want me to use Facebook. I used it for a while. Hated it.)?
Formspring
Graboid (I thought this was a monster from the Tremors movies)
Demonoid
Lockerz
Tumblr
Thanks!
By “Hated it” I mean that I hated using Facebook, not Twitter.
Formspring
Formspring is a questions and answers website allowing you also to link to your other accounts as well
Graboid (To me it will always be from Tremors….Love it)
Movie watching and swapping some say it’s legal others know it not and many say it’s a great way to bring your computer to a halt a lot of action going on behind the Peer to Peer reading.
Demonoid
They have the latest to older Software, Games, eBooks, Movies, TV Shows etc.
What can I say I belong I am a member be one for years I at times need to learn application to teach others and they have it all at that site. This is the Hackers site of choice no Warez and there is few if any Malware to Spyware to boot. The cracks and hacks are top notch as well. Do I agree to pirating no yet I do need to know before I go to teach.
Lockerz
its a site where you earn points for just login in and just answering questions with the points you earn they say you can get things from their site “category — electronics, designer gear, stylish accessories, sports equipment, and more. Members will soon be able to purchase digital assets such as music, videos, art, and decals.”
Yet this is what I hear from oh so many “how many point have you got so far?
and have you ever won something?”
Tumblr
From others as to what they say it is, from others they say they are trying to be the next “Blogger”
It is a free lightweight blogging platform, aimed at making it effortless to share text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be, and doing it the quick and easy way!
As a side note I really don’t use social networks as your info can be hacked, shared and others who don’t even know you end up contacting you and want you to join. Also there are far to many to go through and see which ones are safe or legit. Not knocking them just way to many things to do than to even keep up my own Blog.
