Are social network share buttons still necessary on a mobile website? Can you explain why?
With mobile smart phone browsers allowing for pages to be shared via social networks natively, and even Opera Mini incorporating the share option, is there still (if ever there was one) a need for web developers to include the network specific (Facebook, Twitter, Google +1, etc.) share buttons in mobile templates? If so, why? If there was, but there is no longer, why the change? If there never was a need in the first place, why not?
I’m torn between whether to include them or not in my template and am asking for an opinion. The answer that makes me agree most will be awarded my 10 points (as is supposed to be with Y! Answers). If not, the public should vote on it. I want reasons as well as an answer.
Yes,I think that you should include social network integrations on your mobile website.Let me explain.Believe it or not,not all people are using smart phones,so not all phones have a native way to share things to a social network,but many people who don’t have smart phones definitely want to have a way to share something to a social networks on the WAP browsers.When you add a button to share your website on your website template,then your giving many non-smart phone users the ability to share you with there community/friends on their social networks.
