Is giving away a gift card illegal?
I’m starting a small sole trader business and am looking for a way to advertise relatively cheaply. Would it be illegal if I gave away other business’ gift cards in contests?
For example, if I went into Wal-Mart to buy a $20 gift card and used it as a giveaway prize for new Twitter followers or Facebook fans, would I find myself in legal trouble with Wal-Mart?
