Should I Get A Nexus On Contract?
Okay, so the best-looking contract for a Nexus on Vodafone looked like this:
Phone cost: £59 (Don’t mind paying that)
Minutes: 600 (Don’t use that many anyway)
Texts: Unlimited (They’re the only thing I use on my current phone, though I only use about 10 a week)
Mobile Internet: 1024mb (This is the confusing part to me)
Duration: 24 months
The internet part confuses me because I will be using apps like foursquare or Gowalla (don’t know which yet), I will be using facebook, too and possibly Twitter. I don’t think I’ll be doing much browsing, although I will be doing some, up to about 2hrs daily, possibly?
Bear in mind, too, that this will be my first “smartphone” so I will probably use way more apps than I think.
Total cost of contract:
£779 (for two years, and £720 for each 2 years after that, unless I can get a better deal)
Best price for sim-free Nexus:
£324 (plus internet and texting costs on Pay As You Go)
Which will be cheaper for me?
I don’t think you should. That’s spending money for something you won’t use all the benefits of. My daughter is 17 and we bought an A T& T pay as you go phone and we only spend $20 monthly for unlimited texting and she also pays $15 for if I forget to text and call her she won’t be charged extra. Save your money for something you can use. My contract ends in October and I can’t wait to get off it.
